Athens - Naflion - Olympia - Delphi
- Kalambaka - Athens 5 Days
Day 1 Athens to Naflion
08:30 Leave Athens by the coastal road to Corinth Canal (short stop). Drive on
and visit
Mycanea, then proceed and visit the famous theatre of Epidaurus.
Overnight in hotel in Naflion.
Day 2 Naflion to Olympia
Drive in the morning through the Central Peloponesse, Arcadia - the home of Pan
and the Nymphs and the town of Tripoli and Megalopoli to Olympia, the cradle
of the Olympic Games.
Visit the Sanctuary of the Olympian Zeus and the Museum.
Overnight in hotel in Olympia or in the area around.
Day 3 Olympia to Delphi
Drive through the plains of Eliad and Achaia, through Patras, capital of the
Peloponesse and take the car ferry across the "Little Dardanelles" from
Rio to Antario.
Crossing the picturesque town of Nafpaktos. Stop at the seaside areas f Galaxidi
or Itea for an optional lunch.
After lunch, visit the monastery of Prophet Elias. Arrive in Delphi and visit
Castalia Spring and the Sanctuary of Athena Pronaia.
Stay overnight in hotel in Delphi or Arachova.
Day 4 Delphi to Meteora
In the morning visit the Sanctuary of Apollo Pythios and the Museum. Depart for
Kalambaka passing through numerous picturesque villages and typical towns of
Central Greece.
Stay overnight in Kalambaka
Day 5 Meteora to Athens
Visit Meteora, among striking scenery, perched on top of huge rocks which seem
to be suspended in mid-air, stand ageless monasteries, where you can see exquisite
specimens of Byzantine art.
Return to Athens via Trikala, Lamia, Thermopylae. Visit the Leonida's Monument)
and Kammena vourla. Arrive Athens early evening.
